Glossary of Essential Workday Student Icons
This icon glossary is a great introduction to some of the important imagery you’ll see on a regular basis once the University implements Workday Student, the new Student Information System. You can also visit the Glossary of Terms to learn more.
The Dashboard icon, which looks like four differently shaped boxes making one square, takes you to your dashboard of useful information and often-used reports.
The Doc icon, which looks like a piece of paper with writing on it, indicates the place where you can upload a document.
The Drag icon, which is two rows of three dots, means information on the screen can be dragged and moved.
The Edit icon, which looks like a pencil, means that information on the screen is editable.
The Excel icon, which looks like a document with an X on the left side, means you can download information into an Excel document.
The Expand Table icon, which is a block divided into six equal sections, means a table on the screen is expandable.
The Export icon, which is a box with an arrow pointing up over the top border, means information can be exported.
The File icon, which looks like a piece of paper with writing on it, indicates the place where you can upload a file.
The Filter icon, which is an upside down triangle made of four lines, means you can filter the information on the screen.
The Fullscreen icon, which looks like two triangles on the upper right and lower left corners of a box, gives you the option to expand information into fullscreen view.
The Gear icon, which looks like a circle with teeth and a smaller circle in its center, is used to pop out a menu with other action options.
The Image icon, which looks like a picture of mountains with a sun in the sky, indicates the place where you can upload an image.
The Inbox icon, which looks like a drawer with a handle on the front that you could pull, takes you to your messages.
The List icon, which is a vertical list of four small dots next to a vertical list of four long dashes, means information on the screen can be viewed in a list.
The Notifications icon, which is shaped like a bell, alerts you to information that needs to be reviewed.
The PDF icon, which looks like a box with the letters PDF written over its center, means you can download information to your computer in PDF format.
The Print icon, which looks like a printer with a piece of paper coming out of it, means you can print information on the screen.
The Profile icon, which looks like the head and shoulders of a person, is used to go to your profile page. If you have a photo in Workday, you may see that instead of this icon.
The Related Actions icon, which is a row of three small dots, means there is more information or related actions to what you’re viewing on the screen.
The Search icon, which looks like a magnifying glass, signifies that you can search for information.
The Star icon is used to save an application so that it appears in your list of favorites.
The Trash icon, which looks like a trash can with a lid on top, is used to delete information.
